The Lazy Evening Skincare Routine

The lazy evening skincare routine

You've had a long day, you're exhausted and the last thing you want to do is spend ages on your skincare routine. You want to quickly clean your face and take your makeup off, so you can jump into the bed you've been thinking about all day. Right? Well here's my lazy skincare routine, for the days I just want to go to bed.

I don't usually wear foundation on a daily bases. I used to, but I slowly stopped doing it when I realised I felt obligated to cover up my imperfections to leave the house. So most of the time, my skincare routine is pretty easy as I only have my eye makeup to remove.

However, there are days when I feel like putting a bit of concealer on and some powder too. So when it gets to the end of the day, and I think about having to take it off... I will come up with any possible shortcut to do so.

When I'm wearing makeup, the first product I reach for is my Caudalie makeup removing cleansing oil. I've spoken about it on my blog before, so if you want a more detailed review, you can read it here. This cleansing oil is SO good! It removes my makeup in one go without having to mess around. Unlike micellar water, you just rub it onto your face and it removes your makeup.

If you are wearing heavy foundation, I'd recommend you rinse and do it again just to make sure you get it all. I don't know about you, but the thought of going to bed with foundation still lingering on my skin makes me cringe.

To make sure my skin is cleansed, I then use my Olay daily facials. I got given these for Christmas and I love them. They're not your average wet wipes, they're dry cloths that are activated when you wet them. Meaning, they don't dry out if you accidentally leave the pack open.

I am not a fan of makeup removing wet wipes at all. I find that they leave my skin feeling rather sticky and not that clean at all. However, these wipes are completely different. They're just like using a flannel with some face wash on. So why use these and not just a face wash? Well because these offer a deeper clean in one go, unlike a face wash.

Now, after that, my skin is clean and I am more than ready to jump into bed. However, you can't forget to moisturise. Lately I've been using the Simple "kind to skin" moisturiser. It's a very basic one, that doesn't really target any problem areas like my usual moisturisers. But, my skin has been incredibly dry lately and this moisturiser is doing it the world of good.

That's it, you can now snuggle up in bed with happy and clean skin. I know a lot of people just go to bed with makeup on when they can't be bothered to take it off, this pains me. My skin would freak out if I did that.

What does your evening skincare routine look like when you just want to go to bed? Let me know in the comments.
