Blogmas Day 15 || Skincare update

My skincare routine is constantly changing, well not constantly but it does change a lot... Especially when the weather changes as my skin and its needs change too. I have very needy skin, if I leave it unattended it will rebel and go wild. By that I mean there's a high chance it'll break out.

A few months ago I was put on antibiotics for my skin, again. So my skincare regime has been cut down massively due to the doctor's orders. She prescribed me a cream to go along with the anti-biotics meaning I'm not allowed to put moisturiser on at night, however, I'll admit that when it gets really dry I do use an intense moisturiser. I don't know if that's not a good idea but it got to the point that my skin was actually in pain and sore from how dry it was. So let's get into it...

The Morning

In the morning I tend to always use the same products at the moment, as they're working well for me at the moment and I don't want to jinx it.

To wash my face I have been using The Garnier PureActive Sensitive Anti-blemish soap-free gel* wash, this wash contains purifying zinc and soothing witch hazel which is perfect for my skin. It is also very budget friendly, much like the rest of the range.

After that, I use my trusty Murad oil-control moisturiser*, that I wrote about a few weeks ago. This preps my skin for the day and stops the shine and oil from ruining my day.

Sometimes if I haven't slept very well or if I wake up with my eyes looking extra puffy, I use the Polaar Icy Magic contour energiser roll-on stick. This product is so cold that my eyes instantly feel refreshed. It helps to eliminate puffiness, dark circles and stimulates eyelash growth.

The evening

I use the same face wash in the evening but I do sometimes use the L'Oreal Smooth Sugars clear scrub* when I feel like my face needs exfoliating. I try to use it once a week but it doesn't always happen that often as I am a very forgetful person.

To treat my acne, my doctor prescribed Acnecide. It contains benzoyl peroxide which I'm not entirely sure what it does but I think it dries your skin out. It's pretty strong and will bleach any fabrics that come into contact with it, so I try to use it a couple of hours before going to bed.

Sometimes the Acnecide dries my skin out far too much so I give it a break and use a moisturiser in the evenings too. I used to use my Nivea one but I seem to have lost it so I've been using the Simple anti-blemish moisturiser which also contains zinc and also chamomile, so it helps calm my skin.

As you can see, I have a pretty basic skincare routine at the moment. My skin has been alright lately so I don't want to antagonise it by trying new products, but no doubt I will do soon. I can't help it.

Have you tried any of these products? What did you think of them? If you have any products that you'd recommend, let me know in the comments.
