Blogmas Day 16 || The Steam-Punk Themed Palette You Need

Do I have a slight obsession with palettes? Possibly. Am I going to stop buying them? Probably not. I was actually looking for a festive palette when I came across this NYX Machinist "Ignite" limited edition palette* and immediately fell in love with it and its steampunk themed shades. I already own an NYX palette that I love so I couldn't go wrong really.

The Ignite palette is one of the three steam-punk inspired palettes from the limited edition Machinist collection that includes Grind and Steam too - all featuring 12 highly pigmented tones.

You can't really appreciate the shimmer in some of the shades in the photos unfortunately however, they do have lovely shimmery shades. So although I didn't buy this palette as a festive looking one, I do think you could create some amazing festive looks with it.

It contains a mix of shimmery shades and matte shades, to create a variety of looks not only over the festive season but all year round.

As you can see, it has a lovely range of earthy tones. My favourite ones are the purples, I think they'd go lovely with the gold to make a festive look that I'll probably be rocking for a festive event this Christmas.

I created this purple and gold look with it and I was in LOVE with how it turned out, considering I'm not that great at makeup that is. The shades were so easy to blend and didn't have fall all down my face as I was applying them.

I created this look for an evening out and it stayed put, it still looked amazing when I got home and it made me kind of sad to wash it off. I usually go for a black smokey eye when I go out, so between this NYX Ignite palette* and the Too Faced Gingerbread Spice palette, I'm having a lot of fun trying new looks.

This is my second NYX palette now and I've loved both of them, so there's a high chance I'll be trying out some more. Have you tried any of the NYX palettes? If so, which one would you recommend? Maybe one with some more colour.
