Kat Von D || Shade + Light Eye Contour Quad || Plum

Kat Von D is a brand that I absolutely love the aesthetics of. A while ago I bought the Lock-It foundation purely because I loved the look of the packaging and, after trying it, it has quickly become one of my favorite foundations. So when I was given the Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Contour set (Plum) as an early Christmas present, I was over the moon. I couldn't wait to play with it and share my thoughts on the blog.

Kat Von D - "Shade + Light" contour quad eye shadow palette - Plum -

My first impression was great, I absolutely love the packaging and I love the plum shades. It feels like a good quality product, just like the foundation. Sturdy with a lovely mirror on the lid to help you apply your makeup. In it, there are four different shades to contour your eyes with, something that I didn't realize was a thing until I saw this, but it does make sense and it does make a big difference.
Each shade has a different purpose; base, define, contour and highlight. It comes with a little leaflet that tells you how and where to apply each one, which is a massive help if you usually just wing it and don't actually know what you're doing with your makeup like I do.

As you can see, all the shades apart from the highlighter at the end are rather pigmented and I quickly discovered that you don't need much of it on your brush either, because it will make a mess. Now I attempted this twice, and although this time came out better than the last... I'm sure I could do better, but I was happy with the results. Using only this kit, I managed to achieve a look that made my eyes stand out, without adding my usual winged eyeliner at the end. A look that I plan on recreating the next time I go out so I can show it off.

I will definitely be using this palette at every chance I get, I might even add my usual wing next time. It was so easy to use, and really easy to blend too, making it perfect for me and my lack of makeup skills. Have you tried the Kat Von D Light + Shade palette yet? Let me know in the comments.
