The Perfect Morning Skincare Regime For a Matte Finish*

If you're as lucky as me, and have lovely oily skin with pores that you'd rather not have, you'll always be on the lookout for a product that can help you tame it and reduce the visibility of your pores. Having oily skin means that even when I'm not wearing makeup, my skin feels horrible and has a shine to it. A shine I'd rather not have. So when I was so kindly sent the Bio- Essence skin awakening day cleanser*, I was eager to give it a go along with their Gold Water and Miracle Finisher.

Gold in skincare is something that I keep seeing more and more lately, I tried a couple of products with gold extract in, but the Bio-Essence 24K Bio-Gold collection have actual flakes of gold in them, surely this would make them more beneficial right?
Gold is said to slow down the collagen depletion, increase elasticity, lighten your complexion, stimulate cells making your skin lovely and firm, improve blood circulation and prevent early signs of aging. Sounds amazing right? Let me tell you how I got on with them.

Bio Essence 24K Gold Day Cleanser

The day cleanser is said to cleanse your skin without drying it out, help your skin fight against free radicals, protect from premature ageing and promote radiance from within, whilst leaving your skin feeling refreshed and energized for the day. I was surprised by the texture of this one, as I was expecting more of a liquid type soap but when it came out, it was a rather thick and creamy soap with visible bits of gold in it. When I applied the cleanser, it was maintained its thick and creamy texture, feeling lovely on my skin. I thought that with it being such a creamy soap, it wouldn't leave my skin feeling as clean as I'd hoped... But I was pleasantly surprised by how refreshed and cleansed my skin felt after. I'm honestly in love. This is definitely a great way to wake up your skin in the morning, as it provides the cleanse without drying your skin out.

Bio Essence 24K Gold Water

This one is definitely my favorite looking one, it's so pretty. I would have it just as decoration to be honest. The Gold Water is an intensive nourishing treatment, that acts as a toner. It also has the benefits of preventing early signs of aging, promoting radiance and leaving your skin feeling lovely and firm. It took me a while to figure out how you're actually supposed to apply this one, but apparently you just apply a bit your fingers and massage it into your face. Although I love the look of this one, and I do find it lightens my skin... I don't think it is something that I would miss massively if I cut it out of my skincare regime. The Gold Water has a gooey water texture to it, and this fooled me by making me believe I'd need more than what I did. When you actually apply the Gold Water to your skin, it becomes more of a water texture meaning you only need a small amount to get really good coverage. It does leave your skin feeling a bit sticky at first, but once it dries up it's not as bad.

Bio Essence 24K Gold Miracle Finish

Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Yes. I don't tend to spend a large amount on each product, I usually go for budget products as I love testing different ones out. So when I saw how much this once was, I was shocked but after trying it I can say that it is worth it. The Miracle Finish protects you skin against harmful makeup and pollutants by forming an invisible protective layer over your skin, in doing so this reduces skin irritation and clogged pores. You can honestly feel the layer this puts on your skin in such a good way, it's like silk. My skin feels amazing, so soft and so silky ready to apply makeup or just to have an amazing matte finish feel. It is a rather thick texture, much like the cleanser. I found myself having to use a fair amount of it to get good coverage, but it's definitely worth it. I don't think I've ever used a product that leaves my skin feeling so incredibly silky, with a slight urge to get people to touch my face.

Final thoughts,

I am loving this morning regime, my skin feels awake, soft, silky and hydrated. As for how my skin looks, I've noticed it looking clearer, more radiant and with a certain glow. Would I recommend them? Always, especially the Miracle Finisher.
