FUTURISTIC MERMAID LOOK

I have a fair amount of makeup away in draws that I never use because I never find the occasion to. I buy it thinking "I can post about it" then never actually get round to using it to it's fully extent so I can actually post about it. Then I realised that I can just play with it while I'm at home, then if it goes horribly wrong I wouldn't have anywhere to go so no one would know.

A while ago I bought some makeup brushes and an eyeshadow palette from BHcosmetics, and although I have managed to use some of the colors in the palette, I haven't really used the brighter ones as I usually go for dark colors because they match my soul.

So here is a look that was inspired by Rosie's amazing makeup looks that she posts on her Instagram, which if you don't follow you should. It looks slightly futuristic and slightly like a mermaid kinda thing going on, but I like it.

On my face, covering up all my lovely imperfections, I have used two different concealers. To hide my blemeshes I have used Soap & Glory's Kick Ass All is Calm anti-redness concealer, which I find always helps diminish the redness before applying normal concealer. After that I applied my normal concealer which is unknown to me because the label has rubbed off and I can't remember for the life of me what it is. On top of that, just to finish the face off and make sure it all looks even, I used my Urban Decay All Nighter foundation. This foundation has great coverage, you can read about it here.

Once I'd done foundation, I started with my eyes. Like I said before, I used my Baked and Beautiful Palette for the most of it. For the inner part of my eyes I used the sky blue, which has a hint of glitter in it. Well saying that, they all have a hint of glitter in them. To do the other half of my eye I used the black, creating a smokey eye type look. Because even when I try and use bright colors, I still use black. Useless. To add a bit off shape to my eye, I used Avon's ColorTrend Black cat eyes eyeliner and then blended it in. To make my eyes stand out a bit more, I used my blue Avon glimmer stick and then blended it in a bit so the line wasn't so defined. Last touches to my eyes I used my Avon Big & False Lash mascara.

For my lips, I made the most of the lipsticks I had purchased for Halloween and applied my Freedom black Far Away lipstick first, then over that I applied my Makeup Revolution Unicorns Unite shade to give it a blue shine over the black.

To shape my face a bit, I used my Tanya Burr Peachy Glow cheek palette on my cheek bones and Benefits High Beam to highlight. I didn't use much though as I am not a massive fan of highlighters just yet. Also on my eyebrows I used the slightest amount of Benefits Gimme Brow just to bring them out a bit after applying my foundation.

To finish it off I dabbed my L'Oreal Infallible powder on my face, brushing away any eye shadow remains and giving my skin a matte finish.

I was really happy with this look and did not want to take it off after. Don't you hate having to take your make up off when it looks good?

I hope this look has inspired you, like Rosie's Instagram inspired me. Although her makeup looks are much more defined, with a lot more effort put into them I believe. I usually go for blended looks because I mess them up and end up just blending them so you can't see where I've messed up.

Have you tried any of BHcosmetics stuff, or any of the products I've used for this look? Let me know in the comments.
