End of an era

For a while now I've been wanting to make a change, I felt like "It's Bethan's Blog" didn't really represent me anymore. I wanted to change it to something I would hear and feel like it suited me and my style. Over three years ago I decided to name my blog "It's Bethan's Blog" because I didn't want people to know my real name, but also because I used to blog in both English and Spanish and I felt the name Bethan fitted well. 

Bethan came from my middle name, Elizabeth, which is something people asked me a lot. It was never really a name that I liked, but I couldn't think of something I felt suited more. My blog has gone through many changes over the years, especially layout changes. My content has improved and changed, I've gone from posting in English and Spanish to just English. 

Changes are bound to happen, as we grow and learn our content adapts and changes with us, so making changes has never been something I've shied away from. When it came to my name however, this is something that I wasn't too sure on. I felt like I had worked so hard to, not only increase my DA but also to get my links and name out there that the thought of making a change and having to start again worried me. 

I nearly changed it to Lucy Elizabeth, but due to the domain not being available, I dropped that idea real quick. I think the main reason I changed my brand so often is that I never really felt like Bethan's Blog fitted well with my style. A while ago I dropped the Bethan bit and tried to use Lucy Elizabeth more, but that still didn't feel right. 

A few weeks ago, while I was watching Buffy The Vampire Slayer, they kept using the expression "a little peculiar" and it made me laugh because a few people have told me that I'm a little peculiar or weird. It kinda clicked and at that moment I knew that I had finally found a name that I wanted for my blog, one that would be worth losing my DA over. 

It does feel like the end of an era, Bethan's Blog is no more. I'm sure I'm going to be finding links and texts that need updating for the next month, but I'm so much happier with my new name. Everyone I mentioned it to said it was a very fitting name for me. 

So welcome to my new blog, not much has changed really as I was happy with my content anyway. I'm really enjoying what I'm putting out there and I've been doing more videos lately too - Which you should most definitely check out and subscribe.
