Dresses are a bit like lipsticks to me, you can never have too many and there's one for every occasion. Chilled day? Dress. Lunch date? Dress. Work? Dress. Day out? Dress. Fancy meal? Dress - Every Occasion. And Pretty Little Thing most definitely have you covered when it comes to picking the perfect dress without having to spend a fortune.

When Pretty Little Thing contacted me and asked me to feature three of their dresses, I set out to find dresses that not only fit my style but were also good for different occasions. I'm not going to lie, it was difficult to pick just three, I fell in love with a lot of dresses that have now been added to my never-ending wish list. Anyway, here are the three dresses I picked, starting with the more casual one.

The Pinafore Dress

Yes, I know. I'm behind on the times with this one, but at least I got here. I have been eyeing up pinafore dresses for a long time now but I wasn't sure if I'd be able to pull them off. However, when I spotted this cute denim pinafore dress on Pretty Little Thing's website, I fell in love instantly. I styled it up mentally to make sure I wasn't setting myself up for failure and when it arrived I was over the moon with how it looked.

This black denim pinafore dress is perfect for a casual day out, it's comfortable yet stylish and can easily be dressed up a bit more by adding some heels. I've paired it with a red top underneath as I love how red and black go together - In fact, most of my clothes are red or black, that's about as colourful as they get.

The Red Belted Blazer Dress

I don't think I've ever loved a dress as much as I love this one. I feel a bit like little red riding hood when I wear this - If only I had a basket full of baked goods. This dress has a skater dress style to it, which is what made me chose it. Plus, a belt - It's like this dress was made for me. As soon as I put it on, I was wondering if I could get away with wearing it every day.

It kind of reminds me of those coats you see people wearing in movies, you know, the ones where they're completely naked underneath? It goes on like a coat, with two buttons to do it up in the middle. At first, I worried that it would blow open and show the world my underwear, however after testing my theory out with a hairdryer, I discovered that this would be rather difficult due to the material of the dress. It's 95% polyester, making it a rather heavy material and wind resistant.

The Red Buttoned Blazer Dress

Do you ever see photos of women wearing suits and think "damn, I wish I had a suit"? Because I do, all the time. Especially when I see photos of Blake Lively rocking them on red carpets. Now I know this dress isn't a suit, but it has a suit kind of style to it and that's what made me pick it. This classy blazer dress is perfect for a fancy occasion, stick it with some beautiful heels and you're done. Plus with it being long sleeved, you don't have to worry about pairing it with a jacket so you don't freeze.

The thing I love about this dress is the fact that it's elasticey (technical term right there), so it looks well fitted but isn't suffocating me. Another thing I love about this dress is that the neckline on it isn't too low. When I picked it, I was worried I would have to wear something underneath as I'm not one to wear really low cut tops. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I put it on and the neckline sat beautifully. They also have this blazer dress in black, which I think would be perfect for work.

I might be agreeing to more social events now I have these dresses in my wardrobe, I just need an excuse to wear them all the time. I'll be wearing the red belted blazer dress to work, might even just start wearing it to walk the dog just because I love it that much. If I was a cartoon character that only had one item of clothing, it'd be that red dress. Loved the dresses? Head on over to Pretty Little Thing's website to be pleasantly surprised by the number of dresses they have to choose from.
