£7 For 5 Lipsticks - Are they Any Good?

A good lipstick is definitely an essential for me and if you know me, you'll know that I tend to lean towards bolder colors. However, with Summer being here (kind of) I thought I'd try out some lighter lipsticks, ones that would look nice with a natural makeup look. These Makeup Revolution lipsticks were just what I was looking for and for just £7 - But are they any good?

Revolution Pro Lipstick Collection "Pinks"

As you can see, this "Pro Lipstick" collection includes five lovely shades of pink. From a more subtle pink, for those of us that aren't that into pinks, to a more vibrant pink. All in very professional and classy looking packaging, that is rather good quality.

Unfortunately, the quality of the packaging is pretty irrelevant went you're not happy with the actual lipstick. Why you ask? Well, let me tell you.

I decided to wear number 5 to work, as it seemed like the perfect shade for everyday use. I tend to test lipsticks out by wearing them to work, as I then get a feel for how long they're going to last. However, as soon as I applied the lipstick I felt let down due to the fact that I felt like I was applying a cheap lipstick that you'd buy a five-year-old. You know the ones I'm talking about? The ones that come in little sets shaped like hearts? I know, I'm being harsh, but that's genuinely it was like.

If you read my blog regularly you'll know that I love Makeup Revolution and most of the makeup products I use are from them, but I guess you can't love everything.

Anyway, I still wore it to work to give it a chance as it was a nice shade. After a couple of hours at work, it got really patchy and started to look a mess. I should've seen that coming through due to the texture of it when I applied it. I tried reapplying the lipstick but that just made it look much worse and I was instantly filled with regret. I should've just wiped it all off instead of sitting at work looking like I let a five-year-old try their new makeup out on me.

I know, they're only £7, what did I expect? Well, I didn't expect Kat Von D quality but I did expect more than what I got. Mainly because they're part of Makeup Revolutions "Revolution Pro" line and are supposed to be ideal to "build up your professional kit". They're not.
