Chapter 2 || February

Woah man, where did February go? The first half of February went really well, and it’s not that the rest didn’t… I just fell into a deep hole of “I hate my content”, but I quickly crawled back out of it.
For the first half, getting up early and planning my day out was something that came easy to me. Then I started wearing myself down, I started putting a lot of pressure on myself to constantly be busy and working towards something. Even if the work I was doing wasn’t urgent. Then I just kind of crashed, my energy was gone and so was my motivation.

That then led to me struggle to produce any content that I was happy with, so I decided to give my blog a new look in the hopes of restoring my motivation. I changed the title of my blog to my name “Lucy Elizabeth” and added more of my alternative style to it. I also bought the Olympus pen, meaning I can finally improve my photos… which has been something I’ve been wanting to do for a while now.

The blog makeover worked, I got my writing motivation back and quickly after that came all motivation. I feel like I’m getting back on track and crawling out of the deep hole I fell into at the beginning of the month.

Another goal I’ve managed to achieve is managing my money a bit better. Yeah, that’s right… I actually made it to the end of the month with money in the bank. How? I made the most of my Monzo card to track my spending and, among other things, I planned meals instead of just going to the shop and buying random bits of food that only sit in the fridge and end up going off. I bought Jamie Oliver’s 5 Ingredients* recipes book after reading about it on Issys blog. I’ve been using it to plan quick and easy meals that don’t cost a fortune, and that means I’ve been getting to try new meals instead of always having the same old boring ones.

I'm happy that I'm back on track, and feeling motivated to write again. Hows your February been?
