FROM NOW ON...

I've been blogging for just over a year now and although I have struggled keeping up with it at times, I've loved every second of it. I have always enjoyed writing, I find it easier than speaking because I have time to get my words out how I want them to come out (most of the time) as for when I am talking I tend to just blurt things out and they don't come across the way I intended them to.

When I discovered blogging I was eager to share my thoughts and other things online, I don't know why but I find it interesting. Personally I enjoy reading about other peoples life's, I enjoy diary type blogs more than reviews. Don't get me wrong, being able to read honest reviews on products is great and blogs are great ways to discover new products, but it's not all I want from my blog anymore.

After stepping back from my blog for a couple of weeks, I have realized where I want to go next. I want my blog to be more personal, more of my thoughts and more of my life, as self absorbed as that seems. Because at the end of the day, I am writing for me and I set my blog up for me to write what I wanted to write. This doesn't mean that there won't be any more product reviews or fashion posts, I will still be posting them, I enjoy doing them but I got to a point where I was struggling to write posts because I was scared that people wouldn't enjoy them or that I would get judged for them. Which, I now realize, is ridiculous because it's my corner of the internet for me to post what I want and if you don't like it then just don't read it.

So from now on you can look forward to reading more rambles, thoughts and life stuff mixed in with fashion and beauty. I think it's time I start taking my own advice and doing what makes me happy because at the end of the day that's who I have to live with for the rest of my life.

I'm great at giving advice but terrible at taking it #GOME.

Another thing I'd like to start posting is more creative writing. I recently set up a separate blog for it so I plan on sharing some more short stories on there. I never used to share my creative writing because I never felt it was good enough, but I'm not forcing anyone to read it so if you don't enjoy it then just don't read it. Writing makes me happy so why shouldn't I be able to share it on my own blog?

  2. Totally on my wavelength Bethan! I've been feeling the same so am planning on going back to what I always intended my blog to be which essentially is my online diary/journal. I wrote a post talking about this very subject just last week. Have a nosey if you like at GirlGoneDreamer. I love rambling honest posts. I'm fed up of seeing photo after photo of beauty reviews. How many lipsticks does a girl need to read about? But that's just me I guess. Can't wait to read more xx
