Is This Really Worth The Money?

I'm definitely more of a budget beauty gal myself. I love a good bargain because the cheaper it is, the more I can buy. However lately, I've been wanting to spend a little extra on things and treat myself to some more luxury brands. Much like this YSL Volume Effect Curler Mascara, but is it really worth £26?

This is the first YSL product I've tried so I wasn't too sure what to expect and as for higher brand mascaras, I've only ever splashed out on the Benefit Roller Lash one and loved it. I usually opt for a good Rimmel mascara as it's not often I'm disappointed by them.

The "Volume Effect Curler Mascara" is said to curl and define your lashes giving them that false lash look. It is also enriched with coconut oil, walnut leaf extract and jojoba oil that nourish your lashes and promote growth in the process. Great eh? I don't think any of my budget mascaras look after my lashes as well as make them look good, except for the argan oil one that is.

As soon as I applied this mascara I was immediately impressed. It went on smoothly without clumping and allowed me to layer it up no problem. Meaning if I wanted a more dramatic lash effect I could just add a few extra coats.

This mascara felt light on my lashes, and also didn't make my lashes go hard. I found that a lot of mascaras I use to make my lashes go really stiff and annoy me slightly.

Another good thing about this mascara is how well it holds out throughout the day. I've been wearing this to work every day as I feel it's nourishing my lashes, and it stays put all day without transferring to my eyelids, even in the heat.

Final thoughts; I'm really impressed with this and I can't seem to find a bad thing about it other than the price. However, I do think it's worth it if and I'd probably repurchase it. Although I'd like to try out some more luxury brand mascaras, so if you have any you'd recommend or want me to test out, let me know in the comments.

I will be trying out more luxury brand products, so make sure you keep an eye out and don't forget to check out my post about the Caudalie make-up removing cleansing oil too.
