Self conscious old me.

We aren't born with insecurities, they are created as we grow and become the person we are today. Unfortunately they are created by the people around us, family and friends. They don't realize it because to them it's just a comment but to you it's more. Especially if you are like me and you over analyze everything. To be fair, I have my reasons.

We always talk about our insecurities with our bodies, but I think that my insecurities with my personality affect me just as much if not more. Every time something comes out my mouth I am watching the other person trying to read their response. Do they hate me now? The way someone reacts when you speak to them definitely makes a big difference on how you feel. With texts becoming more of a popular way to communicate, it's very hard to know if that person is okay with you or not and that is something that drives me crazy. If someone doesn't respond to my message, I always feel like I've said something to upset them and now they hate me. I have a lot of insecurities with my personality and my body, they all get created from comments and looks that you receive through out your life. So just think about that next time you want to tell someone that they are so annoying.

We should learn to feel comfortable in our own skin, not just with our body but with our mind. With who we are.
We shouldn't need the constant approval of someone to feel okay with ourselves! Some people will say comments thinking that they are helping you when really that are just making it worse. You shouldn't knock someone down to help them, you should always try and be positive and build them up.

I guess what I'm trying to say with this post is that we should focus on our insecurities with our personalities too, not just our image. Because not only do we make people look amazing on the cover of a magazine, most of the time we praise them too. Everyone has their thing.

Nobody is perfect because perfect doesn't exist.

New post every Wednesday and Sunday at 7pm.

  1. I understand exactly what you mean when you talk about over analysing everything, I'm exactly the same. So often people don't say what they actually think and while I know it's important to work on the things we dislike about ourselves we also need to stop giving so much of a shit what people think. It's our lives and by letting others choose how we live it is just letting ourself down. Great posts, thank you for sharing x

  2. This is a fab post. I recently wrote something similar about unobtainable perfection. You've summed it up beautifully here!
You must remember that there is no such thing as perfection, good, bad. You are pretty awesome just the way you are.

    1. For sure, we just have to keep reminding ourselves that and not be so demanding!
      Thank you x

  3. This post is so lovely! It reminded me of a quote that I love, that flowers do not compare themselves to the beauty of the flower next to it, they just bloom :D it reminds me not to compare myself because we are all so different and beautiful in many ways! xx

    1. oh that's an amazing quote! I love it. Thank you xx

  4. I really like this post as I can relate to many of the points above. I think you make a great point about having insecurities of personalities as well as image and I often think it's just me that feels this way, it's great to know we're not alone and this is one of the things I love about blogging, so many people share things that others never talk about! Great post x
