About two years ago I decided that I wanted to dye my hair blond. At the time I had red hair, so for me to go straight from red to blond in one day was a big step and fried my hair. My hair is very fine too, so that didn't help either. It didn't really bother me at that point in time, I loved changing my hair colour and I was finally brave enough to bleach it. After that, I did blue parts and experimented with it first. But every time I did blue, I had to bleach it before in order for the colour to stay. Then, I dyed all of my hair blue, the blond was gone, After that, purple. But of course , my poor hair was destroyed. I thought that the only remedy would be to cut it off! But I started really looking after it and now it is so much better!
I tried my best not to put any heat on it. No hair dryers, no hair straighteners or curlers... nothing. I experimented with a few different products, these are the ones I liked the most:
# 1. TRESemmé Platinum Strength Heat Protector.
This isn't really a product that repairs your hair but it does protect it. I use this in summer too, when I go to the beach, the pool or just if I spend time out in the sun because it has UV filter in it! It smells really good and that's a bonus. Like I said before, I try and avoid putting any heat on my hair but some times I have to use it and that is where this product comes in.
# 2. TRESemmé Moisture Rich (Shampoo and conditioner)
I'm not 100% sure that it was this one, I know it was an intense moisture one but I can´t remember exactly. Either way I love TRESemmé products, I have never been let down by them. Plus they are really well priced for the amount you get.
# 3. Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Re-constructor Deep Conditioner.
This product is a bit expensive but really worth it. Again, it smells really good. I didn't use it with every wash, I used it more as a hair mask and I used to put it on my hair (damp) half an hour before showering.
# 4. Hask Moroccan Argan Oil Healing Shine Treatment.
My mum gave me this and I must say I am really happy with it. They sell it in Primark. You only need a tiny bit an the ends of your hair when you get out the shower and it slowly returns the shine to your hair.
# 5. Garnier Original Remedies Honey Hair Mask.
This is the one I am using at the moment. I use it at least once a week and so far I am happy with it. My hair feels lovely and soft with a lovely shine. I also have to shampoo to go with it!
Plus, they smell amazing.
I hope this helped, it is also good to get your hair trimmed often to keep the split ends away. I am really happy with the progress my hair has made since I destroyed it. I don't colour my hair any more. Have you tried any of these? Or if you recommend any, let me know in the comments!
